From Book One, Chapter 19, section 4 --
"Arm yourself with humility and charity so as to ward off the attacks of the devil. Refrain from gluttony and it will be easier for you to restrain carnal desires ..."
Humility and charity. That's the sacrifice -- the Sabbath feast -- the Lover of the Poor requires. It is a pustule on the corpus ecclesia when we mock the poor and those who strive to defend them. The Body of Christ could arm itself only with humility and charity (love) and conquer all the evils of the world -- rather than arming itself with serrated edges and contributing to them.
